The Road Runners had a fabulous evening at the Brian Goodwin Memorial 10K at Pollock Park on Friday 19 June. We had a near record turnout of 32 competitors in a championship race. We had a number of PBs, really too many to mention. Clare Hughes broke the 40 minute barrier, only the second MAC female to go under 40 minutes in a 10K road race. Chris Macdonald was first man home in 34:32 closely followed by Craig Mackenzie (35:46) and Graeme Kennedy (36;18). Katelyn McGeever was second female in 45:57 with Gillian McCaffer third female in 52:17. Well done to everyone for making it a memorable evening. ... See MoreSee Less
BUTE HIGHLAND GAMES SATURDAY 22 AUGUST - CLUB DAY OUT
This year's Bute Highland Games has been designated as a club day out once again.
The club will be running a free bus(es) from Wishaw/Motherwell to Wemyss Bay return. You pay the ferry and yourself into the games. As usual, family and friends are welcome and the bus is free for everyone going to the games.
The day typically starts with the MAC putting competition before we head for the games. There is a 10K Road Race which is very popular with the Road Runners, however, this is not a championship race so there is no pressure. There are a whole host of Highland Games events and racing for younger age groups if they attend. More details on the events to follow.
If you would like to go the the Club Day Out, just reply to this post with the number of seats you need on the bus. Please spread the message. There will be a note on the MAC website and on the MAC message board.
You can also speak to Elaine Jamieson in person or text her on 07951 960 469 to book your seats on the bus. ... See MoreSee Less
