Event Details for VIRTUAL 4J Studios Scottish Athletics Relay Challenge
VIRTUAL 4J STUDIOS SCOTTISH ATHLETICS ROAD RELAY CHALLENGE II – 10th to 13th JULY 2020
This one looks like something that Senior Endurance athletes could target for July. It appears to be a virtual version of the National Road Relays (see the SA link). The note is a bit long but unfortunately I think it needs to be.
1. It is free (unless you want to make a £2 donation to SA admin costs) and you enter directly with you name, club and SA number.
2. There is no need to pre-enter teams as Scottish Athletics automatically pool the results by time and age categories at the end of the challenge.
3. However, we do need to have equal numbers of 5K and 10K stage runners.
4. There is an opportunity for our female athletes too. Only 4 runners needed in the masters.
5. No need for a team manager for this one (Tommy is OK with this and will return when we get back to normal competition).
6. You have to be on Garmin or Strava -“Athletes must make their runs PUBLIC on their Garmin/Strava profile to allow results scrutiny.”
A. So, if you fancy competing for Motherwell AC in this challenge, can you let us know by replying to the post on the Motherwell AC Facebook page or email joehoolaghan@motherwellac.com with your preferred distance.
B. Please keep an eye on Facebook replies so that we can have equal number of 5K and 10K runners. We may have to ask runners to change their preferred choice if we don’t get the right mix.
C. Entries don’t open to 23 June and close on 9 July, therefore we have a bit of time on our hands.
D. Please spread the word to our non-social media athletes.
Joe
