An appropriately cold and frosty morning greeted the 21 runners who took part in the Christmas Time Trial at Strathclyde Park.
John Hughes was first male on a time of 24.04, not a PB but 46 seconds off last month's time.
Angela Downie was first female on 32.02, 1min 38secs off her previous best.
The wooden spoon went to Richard Martin after a hotly contested duel with Gayle Tait.
The Track & Field race was won by Lawrence McCluskey.

Benny Hands, Elaine Jamieson, and Mae McIsaac are the only road runners to have competed in all 10 time trials in 2009.

The event in the Palace Sports Ground in Hamilton was won by Nicholas Burns.
The weather was better than October but the usual dogs and walkers had to be avoided - well done Nicholas.

The statistical wizard that is Michael Wedlock has worked his magic and pulled together the year's best time trial times.

Congratulations to Catherine Wotherspoon who came second in the November event, giving her enough points to win the female time trial championship.
Laura McTavish was first woman on the night in a time of 29.01.

November is the final points-scoring event and there's a barn-storming finish in store for the women's championship.
Only one point separates the top three runners - Catherine Wotherspoon, Mae McIsaac and Pat Allen.

This month's T&F time trial was won in terrible conditions by John McCulloch.
John and the rest of the competitors pushed their way round against wind and rain on a new course at the Palace sports grounds in Hamilton.
Despite the weather the course proved popular and a thank you goes to the road runners who helped marshal the event after their session.

Well done to David McIsaac, who won the September T&F Time Trial.
David took top honours with a time of 5mins 57secs.
He was followed by Lawrence McCluskey on 7mins 06secs, Richard Martin on 5mins 40secs, Owen Leach on 6mins 14secs, Johnathon Barrie on 6mins 51secs and Jack Cathcart on 6 mins 27secs.

Twenty-four runners competed in this month's event, which was won by Paul Harkins and Catherine Wotherspoon.
Paul clocked a time of 27.01 and Catherine 31.28.

It was great to see so many new faces at the August time trial.
The event saw some very good first-off times and lots of effort.
Scott Dickson was first in a very respectable 06:11 lap.

The two winners of the August Time Trial, Elaine Jamieson and Robert McCourt, both ran personal bests for the course.
Elaine clocked 27.49 and Robert came in on 28.06 on a wet and windy evening.

Three new runners hinted at the possibilities of things to come with some very respectable first times.

They say winning becomes a habit and that's true for this month's women's time trial victor, Pat Allen.
Last month saw Pat win her first time trial in 22 years and she made it two-in-a-row last night, taking 49 seconds off her previous month's time with a finish of 31.05.
Baver Bari made it home on 36.32 to be first male, adding to the 3k Track Championships he won in June.
The wooden spoon went to Benny Hands.
Despite it taking part shortly after the school holidays began, 26 runners took part in the July event.
Jo Clark ran the four-mile route accompanied by son Oliver in his buggy.

Laura McTavish and Baver Bari emerged as winners in this year's 3k Track Championship at Wishaw today.
Laura was first female with a time of 13.03 and Baver first male on 16.27.
Laura was followed by Lesley Ross and Phyllis Hands, while Benny Hands and John Hughes were second and third males respectively. Full results to follow.
A total of 17 runners took part in hot and sunny conditions.
Special mentions to the volunteer lap counters - Nick Hughes, Tracey Lamont, Elizabeth Martin and Jill Strachan.
This month's event was held on Saturday and was won by Chloe Irwin in a time of 8:33.
Despite the various barriers now surrounding the track the event was a success and all the athletes improved on their previous times.

This event takes place at Wishaw on Sunday June 14 and the handicaps are here.
They've been worked out by Joe and Mags Hoolaghan and Joe explained: "The handicaps are calculated by using the 4 mile estimates and reducing them to reflect the shorter distance [0.46875 is the multiplier] and reducing them further to reflect that folks can run at a faster pace over the shorter distance [0.93 is the multiplier].
"This has worked very well in recent years and the estimated times in most cases have been very close to the actual times run on the track.
"I hope this all makes sense and if anybody wants more information they can always contact me."
The 3k trial, should start about 1.30pm, and is part of the overall club track championships on June 14.

It's taken her 22 years but perseverance has paid off for club stalwart Pat Allen.
For the first time in her two decades-plus with Motherwell AC (and its predecessors), Pat has won a time trial.
She was first female - with a time of 32.31 - on a glorious summer evening which saw a total of 34 runners take on the Strathclyde Park course.
Although he doesn't have the same length of service as Pat, Robert Aiton also broke his time trial duck by finishing first male with a time of 31.13.
The wooden spoon went to Ian Young.

The time trials for the Track & Field section of the club will take place over a mile-long course at Wishaw on the first Saturday of the month starting from June 6.
The winner of the May event was Daniel McLinden, who kept the trophy for a month.

The handicaps for the June Time Trial are out early because of Joe and Mags' cruise to the Greek Islands and the Black Sea.

Looking at the May Time Trial results, Graeme Kennedy's 22.52 had a couple of folk reaching for the MAC TT record books to check just how close he'd come to setting a new mark.
The answer? Reasonably close, but not quite there.
The course record is held by Stuart Gibson, now living in Australia, who notched a fabulous 20.22 in February 2006.
In February 2007, Benny Hands bagged 22.37 and that was bettered by one second in April that year by Alan Tait.
Now you know what you have to aim for!
Jill Strachan was first female on 30.18 and Derek Abernethy was first male on 29.53.
The wooden spoon was picked up by Benny Hands.
There was another big turn-out this month, with 37 runners participating.

The date of the May run has been changed to the 12th to avoid clashing with the Bill McBrinn Snowball race on the 6th.
The August time trial will be held on Tuesday July 28 as Joe and Mags are away on holiday after that.

The numbers taking part in the monthly road runners' time trials just keeps going up.
Forty competed in the April event, a new club record, with Clare Hughes coming out as best female on a time of 28mins 52secs and John Allan best male on 30mins 30secs.
This was the first night back on the summer circuit round Strathclyde Park, on a cold and breezy evening.

The first scoring time trial of 2009 (the February event was cancelled because of bad weather) attracted another great turnout of 35 runners.
Jimmy Mullen was first male on 31.43 and Anne Hughes first female in a time of 33.14.
This month's wooden spoon award went to George Cooper.

A "very well done" goes to Bobby Crossan, who won the Track & Field February Time Trial, which took place at Wishaw today.
Bobby's winning time was 12mins 30secs over the 1700m course.
He was one of 26 runners who took part.
Coaches Mae McIsaac and Elaine Barrie said: "Recently at training Bobby has been very focussed and determined and worked really hard.
"This has obviously paid off. Keep up the good work!"

The February time trial has been called off because of the bad weather.
Other sessions have been planned for the remaining Tuesdays in February so the Time Trial Championship will take place over nine events instead of the 10 as originally planned.
The first scoring time trial of the year takes place on Tuesday, February 3. This year's tables will appear automatically on this page and will be updated the day after the event.

First male was Stephen Riley, who crossed the line in 29.01.
