An
appeal is going out to everyone in the club to help pitch in with what could
be a significant fund-raising event - but it's at short notice.
Months ago, a request was submitted for MAC members to be allowed to pack bags for customers at the Asda store in Motherwell.
Clubs and organisations are always keen to be allowed to do this because of the money it raises for their funds and officials were keeping their fingers crossed that permission would be given.
Two days ago, Asda said the club could pack bags this Sunday, December 2.
Organiser Stuart Dickson said: "It's really short notice but it would be great to get as many people - road runners, parents and younger members alike - to come, even for part of Sunday. As little as an hour would make a difference."
The club is focussing on 12-5pm, to take account of the meeting at the Kelvin Hall on Sunday morning which some will be attending.
If you can spare the time, please contact Stuart by email or by phone on 01698 376807 or 07809 592795 and let him know when you can be there.
Please wear a Motherwell AC vest, t-shirt, training top or fleece so you stand out in the crowd!
On the same subject, the club has been offered the chance to collect money in buckets at Glasgow Fort between 12 and 4pm on Saturday December 8.
Again, please let Stuart know if you can help out.
Well done to Clare Barr, who was third woman overall in the three-race series of 3k runs on Glasgow Green.
In the final race on Friday November 23, she took 15 seconds off her 3k PB, finishing on 12mins 44secs.
The races were staged by Run-4-It.
Jessie Miller had a great day out at the inaugural "Run with the Wind" 10k organised by Strathaven Striders on Sunday, November 18.

Her time placed her ninth overall in the event, which had a field of 207 entrants.

AC Gauldry Gallop cross-country races.
She was 13th overall over the hilly 2600m course, in a time of 14mins 25secs.
The previous weekend, Mhairi and Jill Cherry ran in the Kilmarnock cross-countries.
Jill ran a terrific race over a difficult 1670m under-11 girls' course and came 4th out of 25 starters. Pictures here.
The Lanarkshire AAA has reminded clubs in the area of their obligation to help out at all of the association's events.
Each club is expected to provide two helpers/officials to assist in areas such as marshalling, timekeeping, results etc.
The association says it has "become obvious that some clubs are providing no help at all therefore leaving the burden of running LAAA's events to the few who are".
The next event is the LAAA Cross-Country at Drumpellier Park on Saturday November 24.
Helpers are asked to report to Mary Clements at the Coatbridge Outdoor Centre (Track) at 11am to register their name, club and be allocated their task for the day.
It's been pointed out to the association that this is the same day as Motherwell AC's session with Allan Wells at Wishaw Track but if any officials/coaches/parents were able to help, please let Alan Tait know.
The timetable for the races on the 24th is here.
Six
of our plucky young runners took on cross-country courses of various distances

Fellow MAC athlete Jamie Hendry was 18th in the same event in a time of 23.11.
In the girls' under-13 two-mile race, Mhairi Hendry was seventh on 15.24.

There are more cross-country events later this month in which the club hopes to enter teams. Robert Gibb has posted more information on the message board.
Please speak to the T&F coaches if your child is able to run in any of these events.
In particular, the Lanarkshire AAA Cross Country Championships takes place at Drumpellier Country Park on Saturday November 24 for under-11s up to seniors.
Entries on the day - registration at Coatbridge Outdoor Centre between 11am and 11.45am.
There certainly were some spirits abroad this weekend when Donald McCaffer held a 60th birthday party.
There isn't much of a story to be written about proceedings in the Electric Bar - the pictures speak for themselves.
This one on the right shows Ian Miller and William Martin posing as ... you fill in the blank.

The manager of the Boathouse Gym has kindly asked runners not to congregate around the door while waiting to go out on Tuesday and Thursday nights.
The rise in numbers taking part in sessions has caused some congestion in the gym foyer, raising an issue about health and safety in the event of a fire.
Members are asked please to remain to the side of the foyer beside our notice board.
Another solution which would ease the problem is for runners to try to get to the session a little earlier, reducing the amount of time spent waiting in the foyer.
