The consent form for all athletes under 18 years of age had been prepared. The committee approved the format and agreed a letter would be sent to all parents advising them of the necessity for completing this form every time their child part icipated in an event on behalf of the club. \par }\pard \qj \fi-260\li260\ri0\nowidctlpar\faauto\adjustright\rin0\lin260\itap0 {\f28\fs22\lang1033\langfe1033\langnp1033 b. The website (www.Motherwellac.com) was now up and running. A forum would be established to enable updates to be carried out with ease. \par c. Run-4-It, after some dialogue, had expressed an interest to be associa ted with the club. The company are willing to give all club members 10% discount on all athletic wear (including shoes), establish a linked website and host evenings for club members to attend demonstrations with clothing and shoes with occasional additio nal discounts being on offer. The company were also keen that Yvonne Murray be involved in an event at some stage. The committee agreed the association would be worthwhile and that KM should finalise the arrangements. \par d. Flyers for distribution had been prepared and a cost for printing of \'a3 100 for 5000 obtained from Ben Smith, one of the club members. The committee were not entirely satisfied with the content of the flyer and James Tracey (JT) volunteered to amend same and submit the draft to the next meetin g. The decision about printing of the flyers was deferred to the next meeting of the committee. \par e. The presence of a parent at committee meetings would be advantageous to its work. After a brief discussion, the committee agreed and asked that KM include a request for such a volunteer in his letter to them. \par \par 2. }{\b\f28\fs22\ul\lang1033\langfe1033\langnp1033 Treasurer\rquote s Report }{\f28\fs22\lang1033\langfe1033\langnp1033 - \par \par Patricia Allen (PA) reported on the financial situation of the club. The balance in the bank was \'a32102.14 as at the date of the meeting. However, she was concerned that their was a constant stream of bills and fees to be paid, particularly over the last few weeks in connection with the track and field and very few membership payments being made. She asked that athletes participating in training and representing the club be reminded that their fees were now overdue. \par }\pard \ql \li0\ri0\nowidctlpar\faauto\adjustright\rin0\lin0\itap0 {\f28\fs22\lang1033\langfe1033\langnp1033 \par 3. }{\b\f28\fs22\ul\lang1033\langfe1033\langnp1033 Sponsorship and Funding }{\f28\fs22\lang1033\langfe1033\langnp1033 - \par \par }\pard \qj \fi-260\li260\ri0\nowidctlpar\faauto\adjustright\rin0\lin260\itap0 {\f28\fs22\lang1033\langfe1033\langnp1033 Ronald Buchanan (RB) reported that: \par a. He had been working with Jim Moffat at North Lanarkshire Council\rquote s sports development section on the submission for a lottery funding grant. He required Yvonne Murray to audit the application. The bid was for \'a34730 to the \lquote awards for all\rquote , which would cover equipment, transport and coaching courses. A turnaround of twe lve weeks is expected in respect of the application. The main obstacle may be the storage and insuring of the equipment. He is currently investigating these issues with the help of Tom Mooney. \par b. The application for funding from UK Athletics had been unsuccessful. UK Athletics will advise the club on when the next application can be submitted and provide guidance on its preparation. \par c. Louise Slamin had received individual sponsorship of \'a3100 from A&J Transmissions. RB will investigate the matching of this sponsorship from other sources. \par d. RB is still investigating the submission of bids to Comic Relief and the Community Grant scheme for further funding. \par \par The Committee noted that specific fundraising events by club members would be required to ensure t he club kept moving forward and could afford to support members in their quest to rebuild the club. A suggestion was made that club members. particularly the juniors, could \lquote bag pack\rquote at a local supermarket under supervision of the adult members. It was agreed this would be investigated. \par \par 4. }{\b\f28\fs22\ul\lang1033\langfe1033\langnp1033 Membership}{\f28\fs22\lang1033\langfe1033\langnp1033 : - \par \par JT advised that he had prepared a spreadsheet for membership from which it could be ascertained who had joined the club this year for the first time and those who were renewing their membership. It wa s also able to tell at a glance those who had not renewed their membership. \par It was noted that some committee members had not paid a membership fee and RB advised that a decision had been taken in the past that committee members would not require to pa y. Phyllis Hands (PH) advised that this was not correct in terms of the constitution as to be a member of the club a fee would be require to be paid and a committee member had to be member of the club. She advised that the committee could agree to pay the committee member\rquote s fee. After a brief discussion it was agreed that committee members, coaches and associate members (ie. those members who did not participate in athletics) would be asked to pay \'a3 5 towards their membership fee, with the remainder being met from club funds. \par JT asked which data base would be used for communication to club members. in addition to the website. The committee agreed the 2004 database of members would be used in the meantime. \par JT drew the attention of the committee to the need to recruit new members to the club. The committee agreed that his suggestion of a \lquote come and try\rquote or \lquote open\rquote day would be an excellent idea. John Hughes (JH) was asked to raise this with the coaches at their next meeting. \par \par }\pard \ql \li0\ri0\nowidctlpar\faauto\adjustright\rin0\lin0\itap0 {\f28\fs22\lang1033\langfe1033\langnp1033 5. }{\b\f28\fs22\ul\lang1033\langfe1033\langnp1033 Coaching Committee}{\f28\fs22\lang1033\langfe1033\langnp1033 : - \par \par }\pard \qj \fi-260\li260\ri0\nowidctlpar\faauto\adjustright\rin0\lin260\itap0 {\f28\fs22\lang1033\langfe1033\langnp1033 JH advised that there were four members booked to attend a level 2 coaching course in April 2005 and three people booked to attend a level 1 coaching course in March 2005, two of whom were being sponsored by North Lanarkshire Council\rquote s athletics development fund. \par The club has entered the young athletes\rquote league for the coming season in the hope of encouraging youth development. \par JH planned to have regular coaching meetings between the roadrunners\rquote coaches and the track and field coaches to ensure that a dialogue developed between the two sections. \par \par 6. }{\b\f28\fs22\ul\lang1033\langfe1033\langnp1033 AOCB}{\f28\fs22\lang1033\langfe1033\langnp1033 : - \par \par }\pard \qj \fi-544\li544\ri0\nowidctlpar\faauto\adjustright\rin0\lin544\itap0 {\f28\fs22\lang1033\langfe1033\langnp1033 a.
