Cross-Country Championship 2009-2010
November 23, 2009 Runners tackle cross-country quagmire
Conditions were difficult for the Lanarkshire AAA Cross-Country Championships at Drumpellier Park, Coatbridge, on Saturday afternoon.
The heavy rain meant that the usual route had to be changed as the road under the railway bridge was flooded to mid-shin height and submerged kerbs made the course too dangerous.
The altered route took runners up the side of the railway line and over a stile.
Organisers said the results may not be totally accurate because a large number of runners left early due to the weathers.
November 4, 2009 Lanarkshire XC date confirmed
The date has been confirmed for the first individual event of the Cross-Country Championship.
The Lanarkshire AAA Cross-Country Championships will be held at Drumpellier Park on Saturday, November 21, start time 12 noon.

September 23, 2009 Cross-country Championship 2009-10
The Cross-Country Championship consists of three nominated races at which points are scored according to finishing times. There are separate male and female championships.
In each race 10 points are awarded to the fastest male and female MAC members to finish, nine points for second and so on, down to one point for those finishing 10th and over.
There is an option to accrue bonus points by participating in a nominated team event (details below).
Eligibility
- Only fully paid-up members at the time of starting each race will be eligible for points
- To qualify for points, athletes must wear an official MAC vest or training top
- Points will not be awarded if an athlete fails to finish a race.
Team Events
To encourage participation in team events, MAC members will be awarded a bonus of five points for taking part in the Scottish Athletics National XC Relays at Cumbernauld on October 24, 2009.
Results
Points will be compiled from official published race results.
Prizes
Prizes to 1st/2nd/3rd male and female will be presented at the 2010 prize-giving ceremony.

- West Districts, Irvine: December 5, 2009
- Scottish Nationals, Falkirk: February 20, 2010
The Lanarkshire AAAs allow entries on the day. The other events have closing dates so a combined MAC entry form will be submitted. Please add your name to the forms on the Boathouse noticeboard.
The Lanarkshire AAA fixture date has not been announced yet so last year’s date is shown for guidance. The event will probably be on the same weekend as previously.
Please check your SA membership is current. Lapsed memberships could result in disqualification. This is your responsibility!
